LHV UK Current Account

A normal person shouldn’t have to think about their bank name or where they are originally from - IT issue or not. It’s perfectly reasonable to expect the word “Bank” to be in English on any written communications.

I would be concerned if I got an email from Santander Banco - I would not immediately trust it, even if not incorrect in a native language of the bank.

So actually, people should not be chill when it comes to the legitimacy of companies that could potentially hold all of their money.

To each their own I guess then.

If I had received the message in reply to message I had sent from the email address I had sent it to, I wouldn’t be losing sleep over it. Especially as LHV in terms of the current account is still in “beta”

ZOPA has been doing the same stuff with their current account. My app has been through multiple different login screens since they started the current account. :person_shrugging:t4:

Most people would presume that emails from LHV Pank, rather than Bank, were a scam, and quite rightly so. You can’t be too careful where your money is concerned.

I am dealing with LHV bank in the UK.

Requested to have my application closed on 23/06/2025 which they haven’t done, no response, no other way to contact them.

So why is LHV Pank responding to my complaint when I am dealing with LHV bank.

I first thought it were spam.

They have 8 weeks to respond, but an acknowledgment wouldn’t have gone a miss within 5 working days at least.

The same reason that 90% of the time my FD account. Shows up as a HSBC account when I’m sending payments…

Because HSBC is the parent. The difference here is that we’ve accepted that FD/HSBC are the same thing so don’t question it.

Well these guys are new. They don’t have that privilege in general discourse.

They have been operating in the UK since 2018. Only the current account service is new. I am sure in due course they will sort out the little issues they are having regarding changing a letter.

Sure “normal” people may get concerned over the word Pank but 95% of normal people I speak to don’t even know that LHV do a current account.

If you survey the general UK public, I bet that 99.9% of them will have never heard of LHV at all, never mind a current account. I’d never heard of them until they were mentioned on this forum. That makes it even more important to get their email address correct.

There was nothing, not even an automated one. I have received an automated one for the complaint so I am hoping it will now get seen.

But you never get emails from HSBC or sender name being HSBC even with correct FD domain name.

It’s not uncommon for a head office operation to respond to complaints.

Or ignore them

Was the physical card I used.

I wonder where else it doesn’t work? Ok, I know, North Korea etc al, but Turkey is a normal country so wondering what other normal countries it’s not accepted?

Maybe it’s a pRank.

Does anyone know when LHV is going to introduce direct debits on their current account? It is taking a long time. How can other new digital banks offer direct debits when they launch their current account? What do you think is the problem?

They just haven’t built it into their systems. Who knows on timescales.

The sortcode does accept them, but they reject them. It’s new for consumer banking here so give them chance. Chase didn’t offer them for months.

All on the way.

They must have a very small team as it’s taking them a rather long time for notifications and Apple Pay.

Interesting to see Direct Debits are only ‘planned’, I would have thought most people would consider that a fairly core function of a current account, and for ‘in progress’.
