Keeping track of what you owe and what’s owed to you just got easier ✨

Hey everyone :waving_hand: I’m Catherine, a Product Manager on Payments Experience team and we wanted to swing by and give you a little update.

Keeping track of what you owe and what’s owed to you just got easier :sparkles:

We know it can be tricky to keep on top of all the splits and payment requests you’ve got going on — so we’re making it much simpler to see exactly where you stand.

Introducing: “Owed to you” / “You Owe” summary

You’ll now see a new view on the Payments tab that gives you a clear picture of everything you owe — across splits and payment requests,— all in one place.

No more digging through individual splits to work out what you owe. No more forgetting that £4.50 from last week’s coffee run.

How it works

See everything you owe in one place. We’ll show you a clear summary of your total debt to each person, so you can see at a glance exactly who you owe, what’s owed to you and how much.

Want to settle up with a specific person? Just tap their row to kick off a payment to them directly.

Why we’re building this

Staying on top of what you owe your mates shouldn’t require detective work. This is the first step towards making settling up as effortless as it should be :yellow_heart:

And we’re not stopping here — we’re working on letting you settle all your debts in one tap. Watch this space over the coming months :eyes:

We’d love to hear your thoughts below and we’ll try to answer any questions that might pop up :backhand_index_pointing_down:

First of all, this is great, really clear and simple!

Could I ask though, as someone who always pays back friends immediately and very rarely lends money to others, is the prominence of this section on the payments screen linked to whether an amount is owed?

If I owe or am owed money, I’d want this right there at the top, but if both figures are £0 I’d want this much further down the page or even hidden.

Edit: Although actually this point may be moot anyway, looking at the payment page again there’s not much on there anyway so there’s little benefit to moving / hiding?

Brilliant. Wouldn’t be useful for me now at my stage in life but a few years back it would have been excellent.
