Waiting since Sept’, how much longer for invite?
Mine constantly errors when trying to add it to Google Pay
Same on iPhone. Had to reinstall the app. Had to do the same when adding the virtual card too!
Worked fine for me on Apple Pay. Good job team!
To answer my earlier question, I tried to add the Flex card to Curve. This is what happened:
Curve does an active card check and accepts the card.
Then tries to validate it with a small debit which is rejected.
Somewhat counterintuitively the failed transactions are showing on the main (current account) feed rather than under the Flex card:
I don’t like this - it confuses the two accounts in an unhelpful way!
Has anyone made a genuine transaction yet? Keen to see what that real experience is like!
I just wondering when you send more invite because I’m waiting since September
Thanks
They said once the virtual card is fully out they’ll ramp up the invites.
Hi @Peter_G
Only active card checks for £0 will be approved at the moment but we’re thinking about ways we can improve this experience. Will let you know
No worries! I don’t really want to use it with Curve - it was just the easiest way to take it for a test drive
Quick question; is the flex virtual card in addition to the five already allowed? I’m wondering if I haven’t got my Flex virtual card yet because I am maxed out on cards.
Ah good to know thank you. Ok it’s just my continuing curse then.
Got my Virtual card activated in Google Pay today, look forward to trying this out on Saturday.
Sooo this section 75 stuff. In layman’s terms is Flex basically been legally treated as if it’s a credit card?
I could be wrong, but as far as I can tell with the credit agreement, it is a credit card but just with non traditional repayment terms and perhaps a Basil Fawlty esque effort by Monzo to not call it a credit card. ‘Don’t mention the credit card!, I called it a credit card once, but I think I got away with it’
No - the credit agreement is a “running account credit” agreement - you can find this in the app in the manage tab.
Also - S75 isn’t credit card specific. Theoretically it should apply any time you make a purchase directly using credit - this is lined out in the Consumer Credit Act from 1974. Interestingly - Klarna et al don’t currently offer S75 protection - but from a recent consultation paper it has been suggested that they should.
The law.
If my memory serves correctly, if you take credit in order to make a purchase (like using a credit card or taking a loan for that purchase) S75 generally applies. If you take credit after the purchase, then it doesn’t.
So, for Flex, using the virtual card attracts S75 protection, flexing a purchase doesn’t.
I thought TestFlight builds specifically cant add cards to wallet as its a limitation with TestFlight deployed apps?
I recall people on TestFlight when virtual cards had to manually add the card details and approve via the app.
Ahh thats a bit of a faff, if i have to download the app store version ill probably leave it for now then with having to redo magic sign in etc.
just copy the card number, sec code and expiry and add it to the wallet app manually, personally i only copied the card number and remembered the ccv and expiry but its easy enough to do
You don’t need to reinstall the app to switch from TestFlight to release.
