I wouldn’t mind paying delivery for a physical flex card as long as monzo agree if it’s stolen or fraudulently compromised to replace it for free.
I couldn’t be this on edge at life. I check my passport is still with me about 64 times before I’m even at the airport
I would 100% agree with this!
We’ll know once flipped to “true”
I spent £650 quid on Monday: the merchant asked me to present my card as contactless was playing up: I used my debit card then flexed the transaction. Ordinarily, I would have been able to purchase the item using my flex virtual card via Apple Pay.
I hardly ever use a physical debit/credit card preferring Apple Pay as an easier and secure payment method (plus I love the wee haptic ding you get when paying with an iWatch) but I like having physical cards to call back on should they be required.
Flexed most of my holiday, I cant wait for the day I get the max flex limit so I can flex my entire holiday hahahah
Hey - sorry if this has already been answered further up this thread but…
How does Flex/Monzo consider payments via Paypal when Paypal is used by the Merchant purely as the card processor (ie - not logging into a Paypal account and then having the payment sorted via the Direct Debit?).
I was going to enroll in my local college ‘adult learning/creative/hobby’ course this morning for an evening class starting in Sept but when I went to pay for it, they use Paypal.
Even though I don’t have any link between my Monzo account and Paypal anymore (don’t have my card registered in there, or have a direct debit/my current account setup in Paypal) I wasn’t sure if Monzo would still see the transaction as a ‘Financial Services’ ones and so wouldn’t allow me to flex instead of seeing at a college tuition (which I think should be flexible?).
In the end I ‘chickened’ out because if Monzo didn’t let me flex it, I would cause a few issues later this month so I put it on a credit card instead. I also made sure when I paid for it I specifically didn’t login to my paypal account and just gave them my card number manually and I’ve checked on the credit card app and it lists the payment as Paypal *Exetercoll.
So, was my suspicions right? If I’d tried to pay on my Monzo account and then flex it, it would’ve declined and said it was financial services transaction?
I want to be in never ending debt with Monzo because I basically want to keep paying Monzo Interest because I’m a Monzo Sheep (Baaaaa!)
So cut a long story short. How do I flex a flex repayment so I never pay it off
I’m able to flex those kind of transactions perfectly fine.
Nearly a year on and your still have to pay the 1st instalment straight away? Sheesh
Tymit is still the much better option.
I like paying the first bit straight away as it helps stops my most impulsive self from being in charge. “£3000, YEAH! Wait, I have to pay £1000 now? I’m out.”
I feel paying the first instalment straight away is a good thing, wasn’t sure about it at the start but it clears a chunk (usually 3rd of balance) straight away. Only downside is I flexed a MacBook purchase the other night (1st August) and my second payment is due on my flex date of 27th of August, so 2 of the 3 payments in one month. I know there is a ‘sweet spot’ somewhere in month where you would not be charged second flex payment until the next month, just ain’t been bothered to figure it out yet.
I think if it’s less than 14 days to your payment date.
Thank you, makes sense, half way through your billing cycle.
I’d have put that straight on flex (ie paid with the flex card) as you’ll get S75 if you needed it. By flexing after you don’t gain that benefit.
Takes that long to try think of something original to say
I did use flex virtual card for S75 protection.
stand corrected
Think we need a word for when you flex from your debit card vs flex directly from the flex card.
