Introducing Monzo Flex – a better way to pay later 🚀 [NEW: Flex on Apple Pay!]

You took that to the ombudsman?

Apparently going #fullMonzo gives you lower credit limits on Monzo products. There’s been a few people pointing this out on this forum.

The ombudsman :joy:

You need to pay them when they demand the payment not ahead of time by the looks of it.

In the app on Flex Build they have triggers to meet in form of leaves for each month they pay to get the increase.

I hope they complained to Monzo first, waited for the outcome or 8 weeks then went to the ombudsman who will side with Monzo :joy:

you can pay early which pays the scheduled date early it’s pay extra that does not work with the schedule, anyway after speaking to an agent I think the experian credit score changes was a contributing factor as even though the other 2 agencies scored were going up experian score dropped 500 points cause of the changes and any monzo is dropping ussknf them, see I kept to the flex T&C exactly and the 1st 2 leads were completed even paying early yet the final one musr of been around the time experian made there changes making it seem like I dropped 500 points when the other agencies showed scores going up

to make things more confusing 2 months later they have me a business overdraft of 1000 lol but I prefer how flex works hence why I really really stuck to it’s terms and yet was disappointing in the end?

Oh, oh. The Ombudsman said they wouldn’t be able to help here, but I may ask again. Now I know about the Equifax changes, which led to users appearing to have dropped in a big way, although the other agencies were increasing for me.

This really isn’t an ombudsman issue. Like not even close to being one.

Also just as an aside, for clarity if you can use punctuation where possible, it will make reading your concerns just a bit easier for us. I struggled to understand what your problem was at first.

well the leaf icons changed color and were completed paying early, yes you can let it take payment on schedule but it’s no different paying off early, I know this as I confirmes it, it was the final leaf that6 didn’t change status or color and the scheduled payment date passed even though it was paid. also as to the leaf system I guess that’s only a feature of flex build not flex. support is saying it failed because of issues of non monzo banks, but all credit agencies show i flex never missed a payment for 5 months. 2 agencies scores increased during the first few months on flex build scheduld yet experian shows no missed flex payments again however the score dropped 500 points on the final month which is due to experian changing how there scoring works. so it’s either issues with non monzo banks with issues that caused failing the final leaf or it was the experian change that caused the final leaf issue which is why monzo is going to drop using experian.

then several months later I opened a business bank account for my sole trader ship and somehow was offered an overdraft of 1000 which I assumed would be harder to get compared to flex. it was monzo whi said to take it up with an Ombudsman which I did but they suggested they may not be able to assist with this scenario. but I’m ongoing to try again I think now I have more info etc, I also want to see if I can get to the bottom of why my flex increase was denied hey later was offered a 1000 overdraft? something can’t be quite right with this?

What resolution are you looking for?

Neither Monzo nor the Ombudsman will disclose how lending criteria are determined, no bank does. Eligibility is influenced by many variables, including timing, account activity, type of account and other factors, which can vary from case to case.

There is no logical basis for the assumption that this is based on leafs.

Not that this is an airport that needs some kind of departure notice but for me this £100 change is the kicker to close flex. It’s already been something I’ve been thinking of doing because transactions are just so hidden once you’ve paid them off but flexing over 3 month on subscriptions etc has actually been a main driver for me using it. While I do appreciate the interest & payments visibility over traditional credit cards, the transaction history is much worse.
