Has anyone used Flex for a P&O cruise?
They charge a daily hold to your credit card and then release them at the end of your cruise before charging the full amount in one go.
Hoping Flex keeps them as holds and doesn’t post them.

I’ve not used Flex, but I’ve used various credit cards over the years. It’s quite alarming to see the amounts grow (using the in-room account viewer for ‘legacy’ c/cards - Flex would in theory be real-time in-app with an internet connection
), although usually at the end they all get netted-off to zero if you’ve not spent beyond any drinks/tips packages purchased. Despite watching the charges grow into the £000’s while on board, I’ve never been charged a total of more than one or two excursions at the end of the trip - which we did book & go on.
Have a good one ![]()
I used flex on my rooms Norwegian cruise and it updated each day with the balance we had ran on the room.
Why is flex making you pay in 3 harder to set? I set every single thing I pay to pay in 3. Now things show pay in full or pay in 6..: for example. Then you have to edit plan after.
It is when you do it on everything. I settle my credit cards (Amex and flex) monthly - I only spend liquid cash when absolutely necessary. The interest gained on the majority of my pay sitting in the bank all month is worth it when the cc’s are 0%
So that you fall into the interest-trap a little quicker. The only option you have is to set every Flex payment default to:
Then remember to pick the payment plan of ‘3 instalments of £___’ shortly after flexing something.
I pay for everything on credit card for the same reason, it’s the splitting every transaction into 3 I’m not convinced by.
Different strokes for different folks I guess, I’d just find it impossible to manage what the outgoings would be and what I’m actually spending each month if I’d have to keep track of the 2nd and 3rd monthly payments from previous transactions going out each month too.
The real time nature of Monzo helps in this regard. It shows you all future payments at all times, so it’s not hard to keep track of what’s coming up.
This friction is a real pain now, having to choose and and go in to edit plan every time is so tedious.
That may be the case for a £2 transaction
but it’s certainly not when you’re using it for larger purchases and the differences between each instalment are significant.
Agree - but it’s still new. Used to be able to flex without the extra steps
You can set a default of pay in full, and just edit the ones you want to spread over time.
Looking at their upcoming payment ![]()
With my Mozo Flex card…can i go into post office and pay onto it ?
I know i can with Regular Monzo account….is it same with flex card
Thanks
No, payments must come from your monzo account.
Do you mean to pay towards your flex balance or to deposit cash in to your current account?
Either way I’d guess the answer is no
So if i want to pay extra on Flex….Pay cash onto Mozo card and then into Flex…
Is that the way to go ?
Yeah, if you want to pay extra, you would need to do it from money in your personal Monzo current account, or you can now pay using an external bank account, but you must do this via the Monzo app.
Yeah it’s fine….ill just Top up cash via post office and then transfer
I’m sure it’s affordable.
But it’s literally my argument that large balances are not good for this product.
