Observation - Renaming a custom category in the app does not rename it in the export. I created a new custom category and applied it to a few historic transactions. I then decided it needed a better name before finishing off the rest. All the transactions in the app show the same name i.e. the first few had the name they show updated even though I did not reapply it. So far so good. However in the export the first few show the old name. I had to change them to a different category and back again cross-comparing the two views to update the export so they were all matching. Could/should the renaming of a custom category automatically trigger off the update of all transactions bearing that category? I would most appreciate that if possible

That is a known (and deliberate) limitation, it’s been built in this way to avoid mass-updates to the spreadsheet. It is possible that the team (I’m no longer part of it) will revisit this, if it ends up being a very popular request

If you clear the Notes field in the transaction in the app (the Android one anyway) the last value remains in the field column L in the Monzo Transactions sheet

It looks like setting the Notes field such that it is now empty is not triggering an update of the field

I’ve forwarded this to the team that is now owning the feature
