Choosing to add money takes you to the bank transfer screen. If you choose to top-up, minimum is £50, max £250/day.
I’m not saying any of this is unreasonable, I think it’s a sensible way to steer people to bank transfers. But it’s false to say they don’t encourage bank transfers.
Maybe I am not alone in feeling that I was reeled in like a kipper, only for the deal to change. The two strongest selling points for me were free overseas cash withdrawels, should I ever need which is very rare, and when I do I can assure you £200 would not be enough.
Like I said and I can assure you it’s the truth should starling start to change the deal I will be just as vocal with them!
& the other selling point was Apple Pay. Which I was told would be in Q1Q2 2017. I understand this did not happen for various reasons unknown but it was still disappointing. Hand on heart I can honestly say I have never been disappointed with Starling. Their cards work at pay at the pump.
No point in rehashing this debate, you’re months too late. It was done to death and then done to death again. Luckily you can easily cash out and close your account. You’ve not been reeled in, you’re not caught. Free to move on to something better.
I was just using it For reference purposes. Not starting that whole thing up again, I’ve actually given up waiting. I remember reading a post from Danny the other day saying if Monzo doesn’t have Apple Pay by the time prepaid is closed that he will write a bad review in capital letters, so I’m not the only one who is disappointed by far
Maybe I should’ve said emotionally reeled in. And I have done exactly what you said all my banking is done with Starling & Nationwide. And I always save them money where I can because I believe it there Dream. Perhaps this is why I voted for them as best bank.
I would also hazard a guess when people do have a coin jar they would like a little bit of interest however negligible another thing Monzo doesn’t seem to want to give you. so any money I have in Monzo is like an interest free loan to the bank.
