Mine started working for cards last week. Well for debit anyway. The premier ones always worked.
I’m wondering if they’ll be done in time for my next set of DDs etc and also what changed as they have been really stable for months. So they must have been trying to improve them.
On this, I think HSBC actually improved the notification types somewhere in between breaking them,
I had to verify via google the other day and it initially blocked it, notified me, and I then could continue once I checked it was me on the app. I don’t remember getting those types of notifications before.
Now, if they allowed you to set transfers as ignore from spending and did real time budgeting
I always did (at least I always used to). In fact, my salary going in at ~2am was the last push notification I got on Black Friday before the app completely fell over that same morning.
Ah, you and @sgruppetta are right, I remember I used to too.
But not for a long time, only get transfers and money out notifications now.
Actually, I just a transfer between my main account and an ISA and I didn’t get a notification either, it used to tell money had left and come back in.
And, in looking at if in more detail I noticed that the global money account has disappeared from notification settings.
I’d imagine a longer term fix will be rolled out some point in Jan because they’re clearly still quite broken.
Interesting. I’m guessing it will be a non HSBC customer version of their Global Money account.
I don’t get it though. Surely you would want them to just open one of those. Be interesting to see what it looks like on launch but I can’t see it lasting before they can it.
EDIT: From screenshots I’ve seen the card looks nice, I might attempt to open one when it launches
It’s here (but you have to go via a convoluted route to find it)
It doesn’t appear on the App Store through searching for Zing. Search for ‘MP Payments Operations Limited’ and it’ll come up. I ordered a card since it was free. Seems super basic (unsurprisingly) but very slick
