I’m new to Monzo and I was wondering how paying bills from pots work. Like what does the message mean? When it’s time to pay it’ll move money from the pot to the main balance? What’s the point in that, I want it paid from the pot to separate it.
Another thing is why can’t I add bumper to the virtual card? I already made one but whenever I tap on it, it says to make a new one.
It moves the money a second before it goes. It doesn’t impact your balance.
Old virtual cards can’t pay from a pot. You need a new one.
Due to the way Direct Debit and Standing Order payments work, they need to come out of your main account, since pots are not “accounts”. The “pay from pots” feature will simply move the amount from your pot into your main balance a second or 2 before the payment is taken, making your balance the same.
For any subscriptions you pay for using a card, you would need to have a virtual card associated with the pot you want it to come out of. Virtual cards are associated with your main account or a pot at time of creation and cannot be changed. If you want Bumper to come out of a pot, you will need to use the details of the card associated with that pot.
