There was an article I read about people that just move from bank to bank each time they have an offer

Though I know Natwest for a bit had a £150 for a switch

If the Banks aren’t going to “reward” you for staying loyal - why not? Makes sense to just dip and dive around the introduction offers!

I think it is shown randomly to a certain amount of people. They’ve done these kind of small scale tests a few times in the past to see what the uptake is.

I’m not 100% sure in this case though

I’m one of those serial offenders who moves all the time and reaps the benefits, never get anything being loyal.

I have one bank account with two direct debits in (usually the minimum) and just send the amount i need for both, I don’t use it for anything other than switching.

My brother sort of follows suit so either i refer him or vice versa, anything for beer tokens :yum::beers:

I don’t agree with the random selection of this. If you’re going to offer an incentive offer it to all your customers.

But there is nothing to say it is random - customers do not know the criteria for selection as far as I know.

I doubt the answer will be different to last time. It’ll be a/b testing to see if incentives work and if the amount makes a difference

I guess not offering the incentive to everyone would decrease the number of people signing up for a Monzo account just to get the switching bonus.

An A/B test like this could take a long time since, I’d guess, Monzo are trying to figure out if more people switch when offered an incentive and if the people who switch using an incentive keep using Monzo as their main account for a significant period after switching.
