Hi, I’ve just had gift card hub trying take £49 out my bank but I don’t have a subscription or anything with them. How do I stop this happening again when I have money in my account? I’m glad there was no money at this time in my account so was declined. Infant I topped up a friend’s phone from my phone on Lebara do you think it’s because of this it’s the only thing I can think of & how do I stop them doing it again. If I freeze my card will my benefit payments still go through & are you still able to use your card? Thank you.
Payments into the account will still be made.
Somehow you’ll have signed up for something which incurs a fee, you need to check your emails including junk and spam to see any relation to the service.

Hi, it turns out this is a scam & I tried cancelling the subscription but it wants a further £9.99 for to stop this.i have Google & screenshot Google response. How do I get Monzo to block payments please! There is no email anywhere to say I’ve subscribed up. Please help.
It turns out I topped up my friends phone & didn’t know there was a £49 subscription. I have went into said email & I think I’ve stopped this subscription but im not 100% sure how do I ask Monzo to stop all payments coming from gift card hub as I can’t afford £49 a month . Thank you.
Send Monzo a message via help > type contacting support and follow the guidance.
You’ll need to ask Monzo to remove the continuous payment authority for gift card hub.
You will still need to contact gift card hub to cancel your agreement with them.

Hi Carlo thank you for your response. I have now done this with Monzo I’m just waiting on them getting back to me. I have been in touch with gift card hub to cancel my subscription which I hope is done. They sent me an email saying to follow link to cancel which I done but it comes up saying my email isn’t attached to any subscription so I’m hoping that’s it done? Can Monzo stop them from taking any more money? Thank you.

Once the CPA has been cancelled the company won’t be able to take any more funds, however if they do trade under different names they might still process.
Best thing to do would be to freeze and replace your card just in case.

You will receive your benefits payments as normal. If you have another bank account elsewhere it might be worth sending any money to this until your new card arrives.
Chase, Starling and Revolut all offer free accounts - all signed up via an app.
I don’t have any other account just this Monzo one. If I freeze the card does that mean it won’t work to pay for things or get cash out? Do I need to give new details to the benefit place if I do freeze my card? Sorry for all the questions I’m not that great at this. I get paid at 4pm wed & 4pm Friday & will nee to send out money etc pay for things will it still work if I freeze the card. No, your account number and sort code will remain the same, so your benefit payments will arrive as normal.
If you freeze your card you will not be able to use it for cash withdrawals or spending, and to avoid any payments being taken in error.
It is always recommended to have more than one account, to avoid instances like this.

I’d suggest that you remove the screenshot since it includes your email address. This is in part how people get scammed - be careful with what personal information you share online.
I know you’re just being open and honest, but don’t worry, you’ve nothing to prove here. Just send everything to Monzo and they’ll take care of it all
