We didn’t seem to have one of these. Just opened their Flexible Saver as Santander were pissing me around.

I’ve clearly missed a memo. That being said, Sony is a bank in Japan so what do I know?

It’s primarily a vehicle to offer their car financing, as you’d imagine.
However a couple of car makers offer consumer savings accounts that anyone can access, not just those with a car through them.
The other obvious one is Renault (via RCI Bank).
