Flex 0% Interest Under £100

Hello Monzo Team,
I’m reaching out to share some candid feedback. I have been a loyal customer for years and genuinely love what you do. Monzo has always felt ahead of the curve, forward-thinking, and backed by exceptional customer support. I am a massive advocate for your brand—I subscribe to the Max plan, hold my pensions and joint account with you, plan on using your new mobile offering, and to explore both home insurance and my mortgage renewal through Monzo.
That is why I was genuinely saddened by the recent email announcing that 0% Flex options will soon require a £100 minimum.
For me, the true value of Flex has always been the ability to spread everyday, smaller purchases interest-free over three months. It is an essential budgeting tool that helps me manage cash flow smoothly month to month. Restricting 0% terms strictly to £100+ transactions removes the feature’s daily utility.
While I understand commercial decisions drive policy updates, small-ticket 0% Flex is precisely what drives daily engagement and deep brand loyalty. Without it, myself and many everyday users will be pushed to look elsewhere—such as Klarna or Revolut—for flexible payment options. That is the last thing I want to do after consolidating my entire financial life with Monzo.
I love Monzo and want to stay fully invested in your ecosystem. Please consider retaining the 0% option for smaller transactions, or perhaps introducing tiered allowances for Max/paid tier subscribers.
Thank you for taking the time to listen.

Splitting daily purchases over three months to smooth out cash flow is probably not a good thing.

I can understand Monzo wouldn’t want to be people’s cash-flow management tool in this manner

All you need is a budget.

Hi @Jayp1995 & welcome

I agree that reducing a feature isn’t a good thing - enshitification - but there is an overall financial interest offering involved here (aka: people getting in trouble).
I’ve flexed more things than you flex a stick at - but only because I could and have paid back in full with 0% interest with careful planning.

There are, and always will be, alternatives to Flex if you really need them. But - not financial advice - run away from them.
