Changes to 0% Monzo Flex

Such a shame that monzo are changing the rules on the 0% rules on Flex. 3 months interest free will only be available on purchase of £100 or more. This is basically getting rid of the absolute best feature about Monzo flex.

I used to use my flex card for an entire holiday spend for my family no matter how small the transaction and pay for the holiday spending interest free over 3 months when we got home. It was so brilliant. I’m devastated!

Gutted :frowning:

Doesn’t this just mean that you didn’t have the money to go?

The alternative was booking your holiday 3 months later and saving up one third each month, it doesn’t sound arduous to me.

How can they order their Domino’s now that there’s a £100 min requirement?
People are going to starve, everyone should leave Monzo.

They will need to order £100 worth of pizza at a time.

They can buy giftcard of £100+ and flex that

People will just go back to using PayPal, Zilch and Klarna probably but anyway I’ve been with Monzo a long time and have to agree somewhat with the OP. In the current economic situation there will be a lot people that probably relied on being able to flex things for convenience i.e their weekly shop near the end of month etc some of the posters here need to remember that some people aren’t as fortunate as the rest of us.

No, it meant I could pay for holiday spending money interest free over three months after using the flex card abroad. Very convenient. No need to hoard cash prior, and convert it expensively to native currency like its 1996.

Thank you for your rude assumption I can’t afford to take my family on holiday though. :+1:

Isn’t the Monzo card FX free, so you pay from your balance?

You mean not having to have your spending money until after the holiday is over… ‘hoard cash’ should be rewritten as ‘have the money to pay for my holiday’.

You don’t need to convert to native currency (unlike 1996!). Your Monzo card has free FX and if for some reason you’d rather get your free FX from elsewhere, Starling, Revolut, RBS (Rewards) and some others exist to provide it.

I mean, I didn’t say you couldn’t afford it, I said you need to delay your holidays for three months so you could pay for it outright instead. If you couldn’t afford it, borrowing the money would hardly help
