That’s good then. As I remember HSBC had £500 per month for their standard account.

Yeah I signed up to one a year ago or so and I remember seeing something about £500 per month. Whether they enforce it who knows!

That doesn’t sound right. Never seen anything about that before and nothing on the website about it. Only mention of £500 is daily cash withdrawal for the Advance account. There’s no minimum monthly deposit for any standard current account I’ve ever seen.

100% saw it when I signed up. If I CBA will dig it up

Some old mse chatter about it

Would not be surprised if they forgot to delete the wording from the application flow haha

Maybe, but would be strange if they’d left it up for as long as a decade. Wayback Machine goes back as far as 2018 and there’s no mention of a minimum.

The Advance account used to have a requirement of £1,750 a month, but that was dropped end of 2021.

Yup. All I can say is I 100% saw it referenced in the application flow last Summer!

Since switched the account for a bonus.

I remember looking up HSBC bank accounts about a couple of years ago, and they had that requirement then.

My switch into FD that I submitted last Thursday still hasn’t started (I’d have got a notification on the Chase burner account). Slightly annoying…

I don’t want to contact them about it as I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the £175 switch (previous customer).

You’ll have recieved a letter in app, no?

Yes, stating it would be completed by 10th Feb, although I expected it to start sooner considering I’d selected ASAP.

It doesn’t appear they’ve sent the request to Chase yet otherwise the account would show as ‘closing in 7 days’.

I’m in the same boat re having a mortgage with them and wanting to open a current account.

Unfortunately it is a phone call to do the application, I presume to avoid the profile issues as you say.

I haven’t braved the phone call yet!

Two days ago, I closed my FD Savings Account due to an email asking if I still wanted it. I didn’t and the balance was zero due to its minimal interest rate (1.5%). On checking tonight, my savings account was still showing but my credit card had disappeared. I had experienced this before but had forgotten about it. Apparently, the credit card disappears in the evening when FD carry out processing. My question is, does this happen with other banks that issue credit cards? Does it happen with HSBC or any other banks?

My HSBC credit card remains afaik.

Thanks but apparently the credit card disappears in the evening between 21:00 & 00:00 approx for processing. I thought they had closed the CC in error. Just wondered if other banks’ CCs also disappear for processing. I’ve not noticed this for my other CCs. The agent seemed to think it was normal however she couldn’t speak for HSBC. Also the agent said this probably happens in the early hours when people are asleep. Has anyone any experience on this?

Yes, the Credit card disappears the same time each night (around now actually) for it to be updated. I suspect the FD card does the same because it’s really a HSBC card.

Not that they tell you this. I nearly had a panic attack when it first happened!

That’s a terrible system…

Maybe I’ve always missed it, but mines never disappeared.

The balances just update.

Annoying they use the posted date not the transaction date.

Thanks that’s useful to know it’s not just FD. I thought they’d closed the wrong account. Panic over :scream:

It will vanish, mine has always done this. It doesn’t happen if you’ve not used it though.

I can’t say it’s ever bothered me. You know what you’ve got straight away in terms of limit, in that this reduces you just don’t see right away specially what has driven this.

Yes, however curiously they’ve not yet improved this from the old app as you used to be able to click on it and see what the transaction date was.

Does this follow over to FD in how that card works?
