No markup, but I meant the fee that kicks in after £200/400 of withdrawals
I’d would’ve loved this as the credit card, couldn’t be called gold but pearl maybe
Also a standardisation in the layout of the card, which has been lost since they changed the debit to Mastercard
When does First Direct notify you if you’ve met the conditions of the switch offer?
They don’t, they just text to say the bonus is paid in, at least it was when I joined.
I’ve switched several times and no bank has ever messaged me to let me know that I’ve met the terms of the switching offer. They just pay the bonus, like Carlo says.
How long did it take for it to be paid?
Mine was at the 3 month window, but others have been known within a few weeks.
How strict are first direct on their criteria, i held a bank account with them years ago and want to open a new one for the switch offer
I’ve been told on the phone that I would not be eligible for the switch bribe, because I had one in the past. Hopefully you’re a bit more lucky
Once I have my NatWest switch incentive I’ll consider it, using the “switch” app it does state some people have managed to get the incentive without meeting all the criteria initially set so maybe I’ll get lucky
You just opened a HSBC account for the switch, no?
In that case you won’t be eligible as they’re the same group (HSBC own them). Not sure if you knew that.
Yeah I’ve also closed the hsbc account already as somehow I’m unable to access online banking?? Don’t really know what happened but I was too impatient to wait to find out,
I am aware they are the same but people have reported that they’ve been able to do it despite being HSBC customers just wondered if anyone here had tried already
Well you can certainly try. A word of warning though, if you got bored of HSBC timescales and online banking be mindful that both of these with FD will be at least the same, if not longer.
Fintech banking has spoilt me with instant decisions and changes etc, I had forgotten how long HSBC takes, I only wanted the account for the switch so not too upset over it
I can pretty much guarantee that both having had a first direct account in the past, and also opening an HSBC account recently has deemed you ineligible to receive this, and any other, first direct incentive.
HSBC hasn’t been painful for me at all lately, first direct I’m sure I was able to use the account the same day I opened it through the app.
I used a browser so I could get the £30 from quidco, so couldn’t get access to my account straight away.
We’ll be back better than ever in no time
Just a heads up – from around 9pm this Saturday night 12 August, our Online Banking and Mobile App will be unavailable while we tidy a few things up behind the scenes.
We’re doing this to pave the way for easier digital banking log ons and to make sure future improvements to our services can be brought in more quickly.
App downtime notification email I just got… “future improvements to our services” like, notifications?
I did wonder for a second but who knows. I love FD as a visual account but it’s not a day to day account for this and other reasons.
