At least I’m wearing a mask here.
And forum distancing too.

I’m not, just this is a forum about banking. I’m not going to come in here and start talking about how to change how supermarkets were. I’m coming in here to write about a way banking can be improved or changed. I’m hardly fixating about pin pads. Seriously. That comment is the most pathetic comment I have heard ever.

People coming on here talking about how i mentioned about Germs. It was one comment in a series of reasons why, im hardly fixating on it, I still use pin pads but Im on a forum talking about methods that banks in general can improve and using many different reasons that people use as reasons. Yes people touch other items in supermarkets, go on a forum about supermarkets if you want to change things but I am on a forum about banking, so a pin pad is part of banking. So every single one of you needs to grow up and if you don’t have anything useful to contribute, go sit and troll somewhere else.

Pointing out the flaws in your idea and the contradictions you’ve made is not trolling.

I pointed out that at this point chip & pin is much faster than faffing about with both your phone and card. You said that people don’t want to touch germy pin pads – you were the one who brought the germs up. Others just pointed out where else you can find germs around you (hint: everywhere)

So in summary:

  • it’s a lot of faff and quicker to use Apple or Google Pay or even chip and pin
  • banks have very little time to approve transactions after presentment so they wouldn’t have time to send a notification that you can approve

No people are sat here talking about germs on all the other places when we are on a forum, I was pointing out some of the many reasons why this could be a good idea, many of the different reasons. That’s why they upped the contactless limit because of people touching the keypad on pin pads constantly. So this is the same thing, one of the many reasons an idea like this could of worked

Comments like I’m forum distancing and I’m writing this message contactless is not in anyway constructive, it’s just childish. I was point out one of many different reasons why this could of been an idea and people decided to make it into I had this big thing about germs and all of this. That to me is trolling, I was hardly fixating on it, I made one comment as to many reasons and people took it and spun it into I had this obsession with pin pads being dirty.

It’s just people having a laugh, you don’t need to take it that seriously.

Sadly what you’re proposing isn’t possible and even if it was, it’s already achieved by a superior system. I know some people don’t have/like/want/use Apple/Google Pay, but that’s just life.
