Collected Thoughts on Card Design (Part 2)

I want one. But not for that annual fee.

Tempted to get a Lloyds silver card even though I don’t need it

Why are they moving away from the manic green?

This is the business card. The standard personal card is still manic green.

I’m surprised yours isn’t tinted green like mine.

As mentioned in the NatWest thread, they are definitely still issuing both Visa and MC as this arrived today:

I don’t hate it. Prefer the RBS iteration though.

The supp card arrived separately and is equally silver - both had a Tewksbury return address if that makes a difference. I have seen one in the flesh that was a grim browny sepia colour so it seems there is quite a wide colour variation

Oh, thanks for the feedback. No idea what address that is, but was it through RM or DHL? I had both cards come through DHL, and they were both tinted green. RM one was proper silver with black ink, though my name and the numbers were quite scratched.

Likely cancelling the card in 6-7 months anyways…

I hope in due course NatWest just use the purple-y RBS design. That yellow and pale pink just doesn’t make sense! (to me at least)

In my NatWest app last night, under what’s new, it listed the travel account “available to both Visa and Mastercard current accounts”. I didn’t take a screenshot, but today the update reads just “US Dollar & Visa Debit”. It seems to suggest they have different account products internally.

Both via RM. The name/CCV/Member since text looks burnt dark brown like it’s been a little overcooked by laser etching

I’ve never really understood why they would issue both visa and Mastercard as debit cards very odd indeed.

I’m gravitating towards my Amex and HSBC cards as they are all silver. (I’m awaiting my hsbc credit card to add to Apple wallet as I need my CVV). If only hsbc paid salary early like Monzo coz I’d do the full switch then haha.

But once you get paid early once you go back to being paid monthly effectively? If that’s all that is keeping you with Monzo.

Mostly, but around Christmas and Easter you potentially get paid a few more days early and if your payday falls on a Monday.

That just creates a very long month/few weeks before you get paid again, which can leave people struggling if they find it hard to budget.

Yeah last month due to the bank holidays I got paid 5 days early as my usual pay day is a Monday but with Monzo I get paid in Fridays but bank holidays I get paid Wednesdays lol I get paid every 4 weeks so some months I get paid twice with how Monzo works lol

Okay so you got paid 5 days earlier but your next pay is then 5 days further away.

Like I get it’s fun and all, but if you’re financially reliant on it then it’s a problem.
