Still not totally sure what the advantage is over a standard 0% purchase card. And I’m about to spend quite a lot of money at IKEA, so if I’m missing something please point it out!
As with other similar cards, great if you plan to spend a lot of money in the shop issuing it (in this case IKEA) and value the shops reward scheme (in this case IKEA family points)
With a manual not in English and images that make no sense
Don’t forget the bits left over at the end having double and triple checked the steps before putting it together.
We purchased a site license for some software at work about 20 years ago and received a large 2ft x 2ft x 2ft cardboard box a few days later containing a load of polystyrene chips and an A4 envelope containing the license keys and associated documentation.
Wasn’t sure where to post this (feel free to move it!). It is kinda ‘card collection’ but more the physical form!
I am looking to get another card wallet at some point. I’ve got a nice one but it’s battered a bit and seems to take cards better if they’re not embossed!
Does anyone know if the new Monzo card(s) - main/Flex are embossed or flat?
Also Nationwide? [EDIT: oh and NatWest not that I use that card at all. Don’t think I’ve even got one]
I’ve got some old cards that are embossed and don’t know whether they offer the flat ones.
I’d like to think they do by now. Even my Clubcard is flat!
Anyone use these wallets and find sometimes the non embossed numbers get scratched easier?
I find the first thing to go usually is the plastic film on top of the card with my wallet, which is really annoying because then I get the temptation to peel it and later regret it. That’s why I actually prefer the embossed cards over the printed ones because the numbers are usually on that film so once the film goes you have to replace it
I think the only UK bank still issuing embossed cards is Co-Op. Barclays were one of the last holdouts. Monzo changed a couple of years ago. Some of the Amex cards that haven’t yet received a redesign may also be embossed.
Yeah, I’ve got this issue with my Clubcard and that’s where my name and card number is on! But I’ve got a Virgin CC and that doesn’t appear to have film on it. If it does then it’s very good!!
. I’m behind the times lol.
Wonder if I ring Nationwide / NatWest they’ll give me a new non embossed card?
These are not embossed
I find the same with Revolut although as they’ve iterated they seem to be slowly improving whatever film they’re using on their cards.
Don’t know if it’s me or my wallet that’s the issue ![]()
Have a Secrid for the record
You can definitely “lose” both of them to get the new designs. Bear in mind the current NatWest design is marmite!
“one more card, one more card” ![]()
Will soon get HSBC. ![]()
First X Money cards seem to be in production
US only for now, not that I’d particularly want to tie my banking into my social media provider
How long until Musk realises that giving away 3% on everything and 6% interest is going to be unsustainable!
