Just been thinking - if I got the Monzo Perks at £7 month and got their new card sent to me. Once I get the new card and cancel the subscription and return back to the free account will they send an old card back out or allow me to keep the new darker Monzo card?
They won’t force you to get a new card but every time you open the app there’ll be a full screen pop-up asking you to get the correct one with a ‘remind me later’ button in the top right.
I cancelled Max this month, all I get is a reminder every other day in form of pop up to order a coral card.
Not a fan of those Bank of America ones. Just a bit dull and plonking a photo of the trophy doesn’t look great
My humble collection of UnionPay cards, these are to my knowledge at least, all the ones that are currently available to Uk residents. As @mattdickinson pointed out, UP issuers in the Uk don’t usually last very long.
UnionPay issuers in the UK/EU I have discussed all these issuers here.
I agree, the BBVA cards look 100x better
The Dogs Trust one at the top left reminds me that I used to have a Cats Protection Mastercard credit card years ago. It started out as a BT credit card that gave you money off your phone and broadband bills. They stopped doing that and I had choice of charities instead. I’ll see if I’ve still got it in a drawer somewhere. I can’t remember which bank was behind it.
MBNA wasn’t it?
Both Co-op Bank and Bank of Scotland used to issue a lot of charity, and affinity, branded cards. Midland Bank/HSBC issued an Arts card, which supported various arts organisations, and a Care card, which supported several charities. MBNA issued a Red Ribbon card, to support the National AIDS Trust.

MBNA is Lloyds bank now isn’t it?
Yeah it is indeed.
MBNA debit card when? ![]()
MBNA is now part of the Lloyds Banking Group, but still run separately.
Oh I get ya!
I noticed on their website that their app looks like the old Lloyds App. So I assume most of MBNA’s systems got taken over by Lloyds
Thanks, yes, it was MBNA who did the BT then charities cards.
There’s talk on here of LBG doing away with the Halifax brand, and changing it all to Lloyds, so don’t get your hopes up of MBNA launching a current account. Why would they want to? Who would it be aimed at?
