Mastercard Debit Cards are taking off in China. Lots of banks are starting to offter them now following the Amex Debit introduction a few years ago.
Given you can no longer apply for a Drummonds or Child & Co account I wonder for how long these accounts will continue to keep their names? I really wouldn’t be happy to have a bog-standard RBS card.

Bit of Hyperjar (one of my favourite black cards) about this one.
This just seems like a way to just take advantage of people’s sexuality to be honest. I can’t see any benefit to this over a standard card especially not if you are paying for it

I never got a Drummonds one so that my home sort code would be C&Co. Does that mean I would still get a card if I opened a new account?

No. I have a C&Co current account, but when I applied for a second account is was a standard RBS account from a random Scottish branch. I can see at some point in the future they will re-brand the C&Co accounts as Royal Bank of Scotland. Not sure what would happen to Drummonds, given there is still a physical branch. There is no longer a way for us lesser mortals to apply for either a C&Co or a Drummonds account.

I’m gay and I hate pride. 90’s pride was fantastic in London, Summer Rights etc. Now it’s grotesque. And don’t get me started on queer - “ you dirty queer”
