Collected thoughts on card design (Part 1)

Latest addition to my collection. Ordered after I discovered that Currensea has a lot of charity partners. Will I order them all? Probably not as they’re £5 a pop. But wanted to swap from the Dogs Trust card.

It’s not going to win any design awards and is also not going to see much use… but I like the sentiment behind it.

You can order different cards with them? or do you gotta signup with each one

You can email them and ask to swap to a different card. £5 a pop, and not sure how kindly they’d look at you if you kept asking them!

Managed to open a US Premier account and Elite Mastercard with HSBC USA. It was way easier than I expected.

PLease excuse me for asking - do you have dual citizenship?

I have the premier US checking account. Not duel citizen

I don’t. I’m British, based in Hong Kong, and use HSBC here as my primary bank.

I assumed getting a US credit card would be an absolute farce. Turned out to be easier (and faster) than getting local cards approved.

How did you apply for the credit card, do you have a US SSN? And did they waive the $395 annual fee, as they seem to charge it to “standard” premier users (they have a higher elite status)?

I tried to apply online for the credit card at first, but computer said no. I called the US call centre, they sent me a PDF form, and a day later it was approved.

I don’t have a US SSN.

As for the fee, they didn’t waive it as I’m regular Premier and not fancy Premier. Decent cards with 0% FX in Hong Kong are few and far between, so I’ll swallow the annual fee.

It’s the new (well, now old) Mastercard accessibility notch.

Did the same (for the basic free card), got a letter saying I can’t have the card as I live outside of the service area. Curious.

Care to share how easy was the process and what was required?

How long did it take to get you all setup and running?

The Credit and Everyday words aren’t aligned and now I CANNOT UNSEE.

Bit late to the party, but I can’t believe we ended up finally landing on bold coral and burnt coral as the premium cards. Wish they had kept the colours and refreshed the offering. The blue card was always the best

I agree. While I do understand why the binned the metal card I really wish they hadn’t and, more than that, kept the colours.

They (blue and white) were in my humble opinion the best colours monzo ever did, and also the best quality.
