Collected thoughts on card design (Part 1)

And Metro.

Going by the website, you seem to be able to choose to have a card: https://www.nationwide.co.uk/savings/instant-access-saver/

Had an issue with one of my debit cards from Panama and got sent a replacement. It used to be white, now it’s purple. Not too bad.

Shame this bank doesn’t allow cards to be added in Apple Wallet.

For nationwide, yes, you can choose to have a cash card, but only if you open the account in branch (you can see it mentioned in the t&cs).

For metro - are you sure? There’s no mention that I could find on their website, and customer service said no.

I was going by this: Cash Account | Basic banking needs | Metro Bank but, although it calls it a cash account, not entirely sure that it’s not a limited debit card.

If you download the PDF it tells you that it’s a MasterCard PayPass contactless debit card.

Yeah I’m not a fan of the new Premier card.

Prefer the one before this.

Yes I prefer the old one, but I think there is a mix of opinions. I think that we should do a poll. ‘Old card’ refers to the card with the sort of HSBC logo image and not any of the lion cards.

Which HSBC (UK) Premier Debit Card design do you prefer?

My collection of cash cards - as far as I’m aware the Tesco ones are no longer available, and of course the purple Nationwides have been superseded, but otherwise I think this is everything currently available. Of course I’d love to be proven wrong if anyone knows of any others that are still obtainable.

Smile savings account.

Much nicer looking card than the smile current account one, which comes in the awful teal Co-op Bank used for everything 20 years ago.

Don’t forget the clashing pink logo.

oops, I do have that one, must have missed it in my search through the pile. Will try and dig it out.

Edit: Now with extra Smile

Annoyed that I don’t have access to this card yet…

Is it Android only?

Is that romantic soft-focus, or a shoddy, blurry print?

As a gay, i think more colourful is better

Someone taught you well. Mastercard always better!!!

Sorta see it. Still want the card thou!!!

Monzo is perfect for you then

Mine is just the fact that my brain is going “ooooo new card must have!!!”

Zopa credit card doesn’t support Apple Pay so I doubt this will. There’s no reference in the help section for Apple Pay.

That’s annoying. Not having Apple Pay is an instant “NO” for some people
