Not sure why but HSBC sent me a replacement debit card, even though my current one still has years left on it. Same good design.

Has the card PAN (16 digit number) changed? Do they normally with HSBC?

No, same long card number. The other number did change though.

That’s a little mysterious then. Sometimes an issuer will blanket reissue a set of active cards based on fraud patterns, but I’d expect they’d have given you a new PAN in that situation.

I also got a replacement - according to the insert included with the card my previous card was part of a batch reported to have issues with contactless payments, so HSBC have just pro-actively replaced all cards in the supposed impacted batches

I also got one of these replacement cards last week

New card arrived. It’s alright, but can’t wait for the new design.

Is it still the case that you can upgrade an existing account to Premier without any checks? Considering doing it even if just for the card.

I don’t know. I applied from scratch and directly for the Premier account. Says you have 12 months to meet the criteria and then they will review the account.

Not even a credit check has come up, but I guess eventually it will.

Isn’t that just their credit card though?

When i first upgraded they upgraded the account but I didn’t get the black card. I had to call and go through a credit check to get that.

It’s the design that shows on their Premier current account page now. They call is " Exclusive black debit card" lol

I think the Premier Card is the (or one of the only) that still has embossed numbers. I like that to be fair.

My Indian debit card just arrived by post. :slightly_smiling_face:
