Is there a links to apply for that card?

Is this for HSBC HK or Barclays?

I think you went too soon unfortunately

After all the Barclays website is only part updated with most of still in the old style. Same with the app. I guess they’re being cautious but it’s not very slick.

Me neither.

Completed all the steps, ID, selfie etc., and then stopped things once ID was verified.

Because I’m over 65.

Almost got excited for a few minutes.

Shame, would have liked that lion card.

Did it give you that reason? If so I think that’s pretty insane

And likely illegal if that’s the reason.

They do say you have to be between 18 and 64.
Who knows why though.

I don’t believe there are any age discrimination laws in Hong Kong.

@jonj1

After the process was stopped, there was an on-screen message, which stated that the account was open to applicants aged 18 - 65 only.

I hadn’t spotted that stipulation on any of the other application screens, although it may well have been there

Maybe a work around of sorts would be tonorder the lion card, and later on ask for a supplementary card

If you want both, you can have both. I believe you can have several supplementary cards.

My son’s Hyperjar card arrived. He is justifiably very pleased with it. (It is very nice quality with a black core.)

Send one of those Supp. cards my way. Mr N Op.

Very nice, but the orientation of the mastercard logo would annoy me slightly

Anyone know of any other accounts that can be opened by Non Residents and British Passport Holders?

At least one of the French neobanks can though I can’t remember which. (While Wise are still issuing Belgian IBANs I have no need of them)

Fineco before their closure was a good alternative as they gave 2 debit cards, one in GBP and one in EUR.
