These cards had such a potential. But, at least for me, they never made it to potential. Each one was somehow worse than the others.

I’m curious to see what burnt coral looks like IRL though.
It looks black on that shot, but it was ‘Midnight Sky’ - a very dark navy blue. Similar to the current Business navy card

amex replacing their awful transparent card with this has to be the biggest upgrade they have done. However I do still wish they would offer the classic green card

Do you mean the one that looked like this? The UK one has a horrible whie border on it.
Ahhh, gotcha. Nah, I have a corporate green card and it just looks like they didn’t want to use the good printer that goes right to the edge of the card

completely random but I remember as a kid i collected key rings for some reason, one of the key rings was a mini green amex card, i still remember it now 40 years later. I think thats where my love of the card design comes from.
Also this is a classic design from 90’s so the modern uk version fits in well. no idea why they got rid, or why they charged £60 a year for it with no perks

Someone said the UK ones are using this updated design, and then they killed the card off for new users

Both UK sterling and ICC green cards issued in the UK have been updated with this design - sadly, neither version is open for new cardholders.

Some observations.
First Direct’s back of card is quite good imo.
I don’t particularly like the holo perks monzo card. The holo core and logo are cool but it looks worse to me than holo blue 
.
The Subscriber since is a nice touch though i would like the holo debit security feature back.
I assume the new card is using solvent-free inks as that wording is removed verses the normal coral card.
PS How do Wise and zing put Visa Infinite branding and have literally no perks? How does card tiers work (MC world elite, MC world debit, MC debit, visa, signature, infinite)?
One of the greatest American design classics of the 20th century. Right up there with the Coke bottle IMO. Very sad never to have had one.

Is that Nectar logo a sticker or just a very bad print? It actually looked quite nice on the website.
No, it’s printed. No idea why Amex are still using the old logo though 
The card is good quality, just shiny and ugly.
Will Amex issue cards to overseas residents? i.e. could one apply for the green card in a country that still issues them, despite not living in that country?
My only option is to go corporate route but I don’t travel enough, lmao.
