It’s not a credit card, it’s a universal room key when we stay there. Once I’m checked in it activates and I just tap my phone or watch on doors and such to access, and it works like ExpressTravel mode in that you don’t need to open anything or authenticate.
It’s brilliant to be honest.
Other hotels have NFC options like Hilton and Marriott but they involve opening their apps, clicking on unlock and authenticating which takes more time than just getting your keycard out.
No you have the option of FREE virtual card. Plastic card at a £5 postage charge, or pay £15 for the premium metal card with extra points on purchases and other stuff. But the metal has a speckle design as you can see above. The free cards are just a solid plastic colour (think the plastic card has a coral middle) - I’ll post a pic of my actual card when it arrives
I wish Google did what Samsung Wallet does and have an option to view all cards together vertically. Makes it so much easier to switch between them if you have a lot (I don’t use Samsung Wallet that much so only have two of my cards in there).
Report it as faulty and the number stays the same, it’s only the security code that changes, and I imagine that had already changed anyway with the one you just got. Perfectly reasonable that your recent one had a manufacturing issue…
Mine are in order of use at the time of posting as I have hit welcome bonus on all but Barclaycard now.
I have some furniture on flex but might remove it from the wallet as I just don’t ever use it. It was nice to spread the cost when I bought my flat when buying furniture.
I closed (or the bank closed) a lot of accounts that went dormant.
