If you wanted a bigger photo of both cards next to each other, here you go.
Someone has got paid a lot of money to come up with that. Madness.
They worked with Alzheimer’s UK to come up with more ways to support vulnerable customers. Doesn’t sound very mad to me.
You like the pointless arrow, so that’s probably why.
Helping vulnerable people isn’t pointless.
In terms of aesthetics, the card looks better without the arrow, but I understand that as a society, we need to do what we can to support vulnerable people, even if that means the aesthetics of a bank card is slightly worse than before.
I don’t care about it from an aesthetics point of view.
Why didn’t they just write “THIS WAY” on it?
It’s not pointless if it helps some people with Alzheimer’s. Just because a feature won’t help everybody, that doesn’t mean it won’t help somebody.
Does it matter? What is wrong with an arrow that helps vulnerable people?
We had this discussion last time you posted it, so I won’t go over it all again before you have another tantrum.
The chip is the biggest “this way” and far better than the arrow because you can feel it and there’s the notch at the other end to show you which way around the card is. A printed arrow is worse. Adding it might help the tiniest % of people, but in that case why don’t we make cards arrow shaped, or add bigger arrows or more arrows or always yellow on the end that goes in.
Alzheimer’s UK disagrees.
I wonder who knows more about supporting vulnerable people? You or Alzheimer’s UK?
No they don’t, they’ve made an addition. They know it’s worse or they’d have replaced it.
Give it a few years and they’ll justify their spend by adding something else on top.
Your original link was better!
Clearly Barclays got rid of the arrow because they don’t care about accessibility.
I have my Ultra for Apple Pay but gold for in person.
I’m using Chase at the minute but gonna ditch as I get too confused in the app (nothing seems quick ie moving money).
Probs go back to monzo, as a few friends finally got an account.
Revolut I have used a long time though, on off for 4 years, full use too, salary, bills, spending etc.
I do use it for nights out just to remove the amount of transactions made at the bar from my main account otherwise it clogs
They still offer them, and as was mentioned in the post, you just ask for one. So it seems that they do care about accessibility.
They have 12 designs according to their website, 4 of which include an arrow to help insert in a card machine.
Good to see!
Haha thinking about it.
Though I make money on bills pots at Chase
I won’t make a lot but something is better than nothing, also can’t schedule withdrawals from the paid pots in Monzo to cover the losses there.
As a free user I still get the premium card (cancelled when they changed travel) so I’m happy with that
