I have both pleb credit cards and out of all of the designs it’s only the standard credit card I don’t really like. They grey gradient just doesn’t look right somehow. Prefer the lighter grey/silver debit card.
I asked Santander on facebook why they hadn’t updated the image of their cards in digital wallets. I didn’t expect a brilliant answer, but isn’t this a load of nonsense?
Hi. Thanks for getting in touch. This image is used to enable us to show the last 4 digits of your card number, so customers may differentiate between multiple cards. The new card design has the card number on the reverse so would not be appropriate for display on a digital wallet.
How does the numbers being on the back stop them from using an image of their updated card consider every other bank manages?
Why did you bother with the numpties on Facebook? How would they know?
I didn’t really expect them to know. At most I expected them to say “we will pass this on to another team to take a look at it”. Didn’t expect a completely made-up response.
Well now you know not to bother with Facebook
I have it and don’t like it at all. It looks cheap and feels flimsy and insubstantial.
The credit limit they give me is also laughable. But it’s now my only Visa credit card so I’m stuck with it for the moment as most UK issuers are using Mastercard now.
I wish they made the virtual card design available as a physical card, it looks like it would be even better than the Revolut chromatic card
Still really like and want those HSBC Premier cards but when it comes down to it I’m still going to use my Starling + Amex combo so pretty pointless for the trouble involved.
If anyone’s still longing for the purple lion, HSBC Expat is still issuing them.
Bit bored from revision so have a habit of looking through not very interesting tweets haha. However, this one from RBS does suggest they have having a completely different design rather than just changing their logo to purple.
We alrady know they are working on new cards that aren’t quite ready yet. It isn’t just a case of “a few years in the future”, unless they decide to change their plans.
Well those twitter replies have repeatedly suggested something is coming soon. Plus, they threw away their horizontal images design after a few weeks so I highly doubt they will be bothered about throwing away their sheds.
If RBS launch new designs again so soon after the last two, it either means they’ve received almost–entirely terrible feedback on both “local” designs, or someone has been promoted to Head of Design, and they’ve asked “what the bleeding hell was my predecessor thinking?”
I wouldn’t be surprised if they did, they’re going to have to change the blue logo to purple sooner or later, and they may as well just go full redesign at the same time.
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knew if Natwest had redesigned their credit cards to be flat rather than having the numbers embossed on the card?
Yes they’re flat. Details printed on the reverse.
Welcome
Edit: Sorry, you’re asking about credit cards. Not sure, think they’re still embossed.
Mine were embossed as of a year ago when I opened them, same as RBS, no sign of that having changed as far as I can see. I’d think they would refresh the design whenever they go down the non-embossed route.
I wonder if they will change NatWest and Ulster’s to
To what?
