Collected thoughts on card design (Part 1)

And just because I have nothing else to do while I’m waiting for the decompile of the latest app version to finish…

On the one hand I’m tempted by the eco card for the novelty value.

On the other hand it’s £4.50, and I have a perfectly good green wise card which I didn’t pay for. That card is valid until mid 2026 and it doesn’t seem very “eco” to bin a perfectly serviceable card over three years before the end of its natural life.

Look at how lovely it looks though!

Anyone who is not prepared to enter a darkened room to do that, just isn’t trying.

Dead. (As in funny).

:joy:

Honestly rubbish, I had the eco card but it wouldn’t work with TfL; it was a brand new card and they refused to help whatsoever.

I gave up when they wouldn’t help, replace or refund the card. I closed my account and joined Revolut shortly after.

I’m not fussed about the account (Revolut is way ahead) but very annoyed they wouldn’t refund the card fees for what wasn’t my fault.

Oh god. What did I do? I’m gonna be banned from this forum, aren’t I?

Been using them for years (since before they did the borderless account) and never had an issue. Clear pricing, decent exchange rates, reasonable app, easy to use.

I don’t have a kid but I want to order one of these for myself just to add to the collection.

What is the morality on creating a fictitious child to get the card

It’s not a child bank account just setting up a prepaid card for a child to use.

The cards are free right now so I think I will order my sister one as I can top that up at birthdays and holidays ect.

You create an account using your own details and name who will use card from what I have read.

Issues with TfL? What a surprise.

At first, I couldn’t add my Starling virtual card as TfL’s webform wouldn’t let me add an expiry date in 2032. Now I can do that, but the card is showing as expired. TfL have been utterly, utterly useless - responding to my support queries with answers to anything other that what I have reported. If your eco card isn’t working with TfL, I would wager it’s their issue rather than Wise’s (other than the refusal to refund or replace).

Revolut is the same, I have a couple of Visa Infinite cards from them but they don’t offer any perks.

Yeah I got them when I had Premium. Infinite’s biggest perk is supposed to be the concierge service but it’s not available for Revolut issued cards regardless of your plan

This just arrived, very hard to get the Wise wording in shot unless the card is tilted.

Mine has also arrived. Ordered on Wednesday, standard delivery.

Same, Wednesday standard delivery. Said estimated delivery date was the 7th of March.
