I phoned them up in the end and asked. Got the same reply that I had to go to a branch or write to some weird, ‘Box 1, BX4 7SB’, address.

When I closed mine I wrote off to this address and received a response telling me that the signature on the letter didn’t match the one they had on file and that I needed to trudge along to a branch with ID after all…

Had a google to see if AM was a different version of pp but nothing ️

Hilarious.

I wonder what the total cost of that penny is? They’ve sent a letter, and a cheque by special delivery (I can see the point in that; they wouldn’t want it falling into the wrong hands ). And there’s also the cost to Monzo for the Freepost and cheque clearing.
