My Chase account has sat empty for months and I don’t initially have the referral offer however after paying in £1500 I got the ‘refer 5 people’ email the day after.
Have added my codes to the referral code sticky if anyone needs one.
For anyone that hasn’t got their own codes, if your account has been dormant try paying in and out £1.5k.
I’m paid every 4 weeks and almost all my bills are due first every month. I usually pay them but occasionally I need to dip into my overdraft for a few days…
I’ve got a £1k overdraft on both NatWest and Monzo, but I can’t say I’ve ever used it. I think it’s a mental thing where if I mess up and forget a direct debit, card subscription etc is coming out it won’t bounce.
NatWest previously removed my overdraft, after 6 months or so it said I was eligible again so I added one back. Wouldn’t surprise me if they remove it again, it’s not financially beneficial for them to let me have one sitting there unused.
Ironically Chase won’t give me a credit card - I’ve been declined every time I applied, so not sure they’d give me an overdraft either if they eventually offer one. Never had an issue getting overdraft/credit cards with NatWest or Monzo. My Barclays Premier account says they can’t lend to me but I don’t use the account at all really.
Is Chase still a good account to open sub accounts for switches? (On second thought, LBGs only do soft checks for second accounts onwards so I might not need Chase.)
You’d think so, but some people can’t control themselves at all. I have colleagues who would rather get paid monthly than weekly for fear of running out of money by Bills Day. “Just don’t spend all your money by then" doesn’t work for them.
Yes very good and efficient, currently have two on the way out and created some more to wait.
You will have to wait for the card in the post or until when details show up in the post before you can use that new account for switching. With Chase you use the same old card, initiate your move and roll on.
LBG gives you the actual physical card number in-app so the only downside is a wasted piece of plastic via the post. Took only 2 working days for mine to arrive, I was pretty impressed.
I thought Chase gives you only 1 card to use among all current accounts, so CASS system might close your Chase main account instead? Or did you keep the card linked to the dummy sub account until the switch is completed and then move the card back to your main account?
