Chase UK Chat (Part 2)

Yup.

Hey - so it’s been quite a while, does anyone know if there’s been any further progress on the roll-out of their Credit Card?

Are more customers still being offered it? It’s not showing as an option on their website so it’s not yet ‘generally’ available.

I’ve not been offered it.

I have the card, my god, gets declined all the time. Stopped using it now. Might go back to my AMEX

What sort of places? Been using it since launch and never had anything declined.

My other half uses his and never once seen it decline.

Mine has also worked fine in the UK and abroad and not had one issue

Had it decline at HMV, Forbidden Planet, Primark, Temu, Attraction Tickets & Train Line - I have contacted chase regarding this but have no reason why it’s being declined.

Stopped using my credit card as maxed out now.

Got another 0% purchase card from another provider, so spending on that now. They’re minimum payment is only 1% of balance as well, compared to Chase 2.5%, so get to stooze greater sum for longer :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Bank of England have cut the BR to 4.25%, as expected, so the new booster will now become 4.55% in a week’s time.

Cue the number of Chase customers complaining that it “was supposed to be 4.80% for six months!”

Forum rules prohibited me from typing “the b4se rate” as it’s not allowed! WTF

That happened to me also, apparently it’s a neo nazigroup.

It’s also a technical term used in finance so should be allowed, I think.

Although it’s a bit silly having to work round it, I think it’s officially called the ‘bank rate’, which I’m hoping works ok, so could say the ‘BoE Bank Rate’

@AlanDoe can “base” be added to the dictionary of allowed words in the context as above?

It’s all about context which is where the list of disallowed words fails miserably.

Standard saver rate reducing to 2.75%, and last booster rate to 4.55% on 15th May. Apparently.

Have been offered it for the last few months now

According to Moneyweek, after extensive trials, Chase is finally looking to make its credit card offering generally available (rather than selectively available) ‘sometime in June’.

Meanwhile, it seems that digital bank LHV is going to try to break into the UK current account market. Another offering based in sunny Estonia.

Anyone remember the old Icelandic bank efforts? They went well…

Mine has been open ages.

Or do you mean they are actually going to now offer the features that generally come with a current account, that are absent atm?

You tell me, as you seem to be expert on most things.

Sorry if it’s old news to you.
