Chase UK Chat (Part 1)

Success. Must not spend all afternoon playing with the app…

Did have a slight problem with the photo id, as it wasn’t entirely clear whether the pic was automatically taken, or required action. It is automatic.

Still won’t work on Android, even with a proper Google Play link. My device software must be behind. Don’t laugh, it’s a Motorola.

As a non-Monzo user I can totally see Chase being my main bank if they maintain good rewards and obviously get direct debits set up.

I would then have a totally separate account for bills, and be able to set money into an account for spending when overseas, just set the card to spend from that account and never have to worry.

My day to day spend will remain on the Amex… I am still getting more than 1% value in air miles from this for the flights I take.

I’m in now too, cool touch being able to choose how your name is displayed from 4 options on the card :+1:

Tried adding to Google Pay and was rejected as I suspected it might.

Just testing out a tube journey. Was worried it might need a PIN use before Apple Pay worked but let me through.

No 10p charge yet.

Edit: they came through, with merchant logo too.

You can change category on pending transactions too:

Well this won’t get confusing at all when I’ve had a drink :joy:

The Apple Watch is even less identifiable due to the smaller screen.

Shame you can’t unlock the app with fingerprint (android)

The way I see Chase working for me at the moment is replacing Starling (for work) and Tesco Bank Clubcard Pay+ (for petrol).

I’ll use my Clubcard to get points for petrol instead of the Pay+ card, and also get the cashback with Chase.
For work, I’ll just put all my travel transactions that I currently put on Starling and claim back.

That would work if no other bills came off your card while you were away.

Sadly the lack of card numbers per account really reduces its appeal. I would be limiting what I can do right now, albeit not for free, but far far more capable.

Its appearing to be a fair bit of a damp squib, it has a tiny bit of interest and a time limited bit of cash back and thats about it.

I can unlock my Chase app with a fingerprint on Android…

Try going into profile/settings/login and security

You have to close the app fully and go back into it surely? I had to do that to get Face ID to work on iPhone.

Am I missing how to switch on round ups?

I’ve scrolled but can’t see a way to activate unless I have to spend first before it comes up with the option, or it does it automatically?

I’ve opened a second account but still nothing.

Love it!

This is true, though anything that I can pay by card monthly would go on my Amex anyway.

There is one. It’s the main screen and it’s “All Activity”.

Chase cards looks really good in the Apple Wallet

Now I’m wondering how many cards can you add into it, I remember I was hitting a limit a few years ago :man_shrugging:

Edit:

Apple says up to 12 but I somehow managed to add more :joy:

It’s definitely got room to improve but I can’t think of a bank that launched with everything perfect.
