Chase UK Chat (Part 1)

Too many people using it for CASS transfers, perhaps?

Fixed that for you :joy:

What is this limit? It’s interesting that they haven’t specified a set number, which implies that the limit could vary from person to person, depending on the particular customer’s behaviour. Also, is it a limited number of accounts open at any one time, or does it mean ever? And does it mean current accounts, or savings accounts, or both?

I’ve read somewhere that it’s 20 but it’s inconclusive.

ā€œJust so you knowā€ is one of my least favourite bits of passive-aggressive mock friendly corporate speak.

It’s 21 now. 10 savings, 10 current, plus the boosted saver if you opened it.

I’ve not had any of these issues. Have you had any of them yet? It seems more than Chase are being upfront about possible issues, not that everyone is having them.

The same happens with Monzo. It’s probably far more common to have issues with legacy banks, they just don’t announce it unless it affects everyone.

I haven’t been impacted by this issue, although from my experience over the past year I would not use Chase as my main/sole account.

  • Mistakenly refunded transactions
  • Apple Pay fault within the app
  • Been logged out of the app for no reason, having to provide ID to get back in
  • Payments fail if sent from a Chase account to a switched out Chase account

I guess this is my point. Other than the poster above I don’t know anyone who has constant issues with Chase - certainly no more than other banks.

I’ve been logged out of a ton of banking apps randomly; I don’t think ā€œThIs BaNk Is BrOkEn :angry:ā€ it’s just… log back in :man_shrugging:t2:

We have varying experiences evidently, as I know multiple people who have had issues with Chase.

I’ve also never been logged out of the First Direct or NatWest app, where I’ve needed my passport to get back in. :man_shrugging:

Only issue I’ve ever really had is notifications stopped coming through, but that was fixed by deleting the app and reinstalling, and I use Chase for general daily spend so it’s fairly frequent use.

Has that happened multiple times though or just once? That could just have corrupted locally stored auth data.

Could still be dded to Apple Pay the standard way though? Again doesn’t really seem like a significant issue to me. The HSBC app shows the ā€œadd to walletā€ button for cards that already are added, I just ignore it.

Maybe I just have a higher tolerance for the occasional issue than others, but small one-off things like that wouldn’t put me off using a bank.

No issues since launch date that have affected me personally.

Bet not many can say that.

And I use Chase every day - currently via their credit card.

I have that notice…. Not sure what to expect.

I have had the odd issue with chase but generally it’s been okay.
I also wonder if there is a OS disparity with iOS and android. I have seen that with a lot of apps.

Was just about the post that.

It was inevitable really.

Agreed, was only a matter of time.
They’ve scrapped cash back abroad completely as well.

Wow.

I don’t use Chase personally. How many of you guys are going to jump ship now, and where are you going?

I used them as a spending account solely for the cash back, will now leave the account at Ā£0. I don’t drive, and my grocery bill isn’t much so for myself it’s no longer worth it.

First Direct for use abroad, NatWest Rewards for my main account. Barclaycard Avios for spending now.

I use the NatWest Rewards credit card, 1% back at supermarkets and 0.25% everywhere else, so even better than this, if you don’t drive. Maybe even if you do…
