Chase UK Chat (Part 1)

I wonder if it is something to do with having two “offers” active at once, this is what mine is like.

Hey,

That would be a reasonable point for you, yes, but I’ve been with chase since the beginning and so mine expires before yours and therefore I shouldn’t have had the first notification.

I had already met the requirements on payments in the month of Feb.

I received notification of my eligibility for cashback in April under the new cashback scheme ie paying in £1,500 pm. See screenshot below - two notifications received at the same time.

Hi oh my that’s crazy,

Well they just asked me for my make and model and operating system and what version of the chase app I have. They are really working on it haha

I’m still on the £500 for 1% one until May, and after that, probably won’t bother putting £1500 in, as I’m only getting £2-3 a month in cashback from it right now (most of my big purchases go on credit card)

I mean I wouldn’t scoff at any amount of money that I get back or get in general.
How often does one make big purchases?
I mean I have a holiday coming up and I’ve put the £100 on the AmEx for protection. But the other couple thousand I’ll put on change to get that cash back - not much but something :man_shrugging:t5:
I hope you’re able to maximise all the cash you can get back in the best way

If I spend more than about £15 at a time, I use a credit card because I have no faith in Chase customer services if I have an issue with transactions. Had a few poor to terrible experiences with their customer service (including 6 days to raise a chargeback and transferring money out of my current account not my savings account), so don’t trust them with large money. I’d rather lose £2 a month and have a competent customer services if I need it

All my experiences have been good too, but customer service can definitely be hit and miss depending on who you get.

I’ve been there since the launch. No issues of note for me.

That’s shame you have faced that. I’ve had good customer service Abs when I complained (early on) they took my query seriously. I was even phone called by a manager and compensated. I really trust in chase. But each to their own.

If you don’t like chase for their cash back or their customer service… I’m not really sure what’s left.

No issues with customer service the few times I have had to deal switch them.

By spp only for customer service.

The chargeback issue was over chat initially but then ended up phoning them after getting nowhere. Was in Dec 22.

And the app is decent enough to use and putting £500 is no hassle, but putting in £1500 is a lot more hassle (as most of my DDs come out of different account) for a couple of quid

It’s can be a good bit more if you use a savings account for the DDs. Best move ever for me.

Can you get your salary paid into the savings account too? Effectively making it a current account sorta.

Shouldn’t be a problem.

I was until they changed the terms last year and it had to go into a current account. Just changed it back yesterday to go to the savings account.

As I say, for me, best move ever to have everything coming out of a savings account. No more fretting over getting no interest and trying to run it on zero balance.
