Chase UK Chat (Part 1)

I’m moving away from using Chase a bit at the moment cos I have lost patience with just how slow and unresponsive their app is on my phone. Monzo is leaps and bounds ahead on that respect.

Only thing I’m worried about is Monzo’s slow customer service response times. I’ve just used their live chats they take like a week to reply, haven’t needed anything urgent yet but hopefully it’s different when it comes to that.

It’s really fast and responsive for me, much more so than Monzo. On a four year old iPhone 11 Pro.

The Android app has generally been much worse.

Android app was slow for me, but the iPhone app is something else! Very quick.

Yeah, it’s an android. I guess if they can’t be bothered to make a snappy android app but are happy to word on iphone that’s another reason to steer clear.

Yeah I’ve found that too since switching to Android. Performance is perfect on iOS, but the Android app varies between behaving fine or being unbearably slow and stuttery with no in between.

Which was the fastest on Android?

I honestly don’t feel too different about other apps, but Chase always took so long.

Didn’t have to open the revolut app too often as Android has a Home Screen balance widget which I would reeeeeeally love for them to implement for iPhone.

Or maybe even monzo to do it.

But yeah, the difference for Chase is very apparent.

Pixel 6 Pro, a no major performance differences otherwise. The device was perfect, no issues elsewhere to coincide with the clunky app.

Definitely not a device (or Pixel) issue, I’ve had the problem on the moto razr 40 ultra and now on an Oppo Find X5 Pro

The app is annoyingly slow on my Nothing phone

Anyone else get a survey from Chase today? Looks like they’re looking at options for their ‘Premium’ Current Account comparable to Nationwide Flexplus or Co-op Bank Everyday Extra

That was the reason why I didn’t give the specific details and just mentioned other products from other banks that are similar.

FWIW though, the details I was sent don’t quite match what you’ve quoted (a higher monthly charge for starters - and there was an excess on mobile insurance as well).

So, possibly they sent out different details to a larger group and then work out which one got the best response.

My options were £15 and £17. Excess for Mobile insurance was £100.

Also, not sure how they can offer car breakdown cover but also have it with no minimum term? Does anyone else offer that? If cover is setup immediately, could you have a breakdown and THEN decide to sign up and get the cover while you’re waiting at the side of the road?
