Opting in to retailers for cashback is very legacy bank fashion, no?
Much like AMEX rewards and the such, a fresh approach to built-in cashback would be to list the retailers eligible for cashback but have them already activated ready for use so if a customer uses their card at that retailer, it’s instantly on the scheme.
Yeah, of course it won’t happen. But I want a response from Monzo and I want to know why they think it is acceptable to roll a feature like this out in this way. Not you.
I ask because how Monzo are doing it is much the same as I’d expect any bank. Not done on the basis of special treatment and selected control groups, which when confirmed as being ok, you then move onto the next set.
It’s the only way I would expect Monzo to do it, to be honest.
They don’t owe you an explanation nor any backdated cash back. What an entitled outlook on life.
Part of a service rollout includes adding the option to opt-in to groups of users at random to see how discoverable the service is, and to see what opt-in percentages are like to normal users who are NOT aware of the cash back trial.
Anyone who is enrolled in the new style Monzo cashback scheme, apparently there is currently a 10% LNER offer. Do the terms exclude season tickets or not please? Thank you very much
It’s £20 cashback max, at 10%. Spend £200 or more to get the £20.
So, if the season ticket is £100, thats £10 cashback.
£170? Then £17.
£200? £20.
£380? £20.
£1347.92? £20.
Doesn’t mention any restrictions other than the usual "no digital wallets except Apple/Google Pay
Keep in mind this is still the old “monzo funded” cashback from the pilot, which ends today.
Once the public rollout happens, it will be using the aggregator so the terms might change if LNER is one of the offers.
If I see it once they change, i’ll report back
