Bring back sneak peaks

Can we revive this section of the community please

Twice a month, and sometimes more, there were regular sneak peeks and updates on what was being considered or worked on. You could even subscribe in app to receive them.

I was going to give a reason, but itā€™s summarised in the blog post why this is valuable for everyone

As I understand this transitioned into Making Monzo, but I feel itā€™s not quite the same :pensive: This only shares things that have been completed already rather than going on the journey from itā€™s initial concept.

It goes over so many things, including some early designs back in 2017 for cashback!

I think weā€™re way past those times, we canā€™t be more than 0.000001% of Monzo customers now.

I too long for the days of active involvement but also see that really, the way that Chase and HSBC engage with new feature development is probably the way Monzo also now need to.

ā€œSneak peaksā€ - I donā€™t want to have a category dedicated to looking at the tops of mountains :stuck_out_tongue:

I suspect itā€™s just much easier for them not to talk about upcoming features.

I mean look at the Connected Accounts thread, the moment someone from Monzo made the mistake of saying a certain card provider was being worked on, that poor staff member was hounded.

There are other examples too, Iā€™m sure.

It would be nice to see though.

I love this idea. And Iā€™d vote for it if it had a vote button.

The caveat is though, and I suspect the reason we donā€™t have this anymore (in addition to a public roadmap), is because a few folks will ruin it for the rest of us, no matter how well Monzo manages expectations.

They get away with it as a much smaller community driven startup, but theyā€™re not that anymore, though I wish they could be.

Sadly, Iā€™m with the negative comments above. The ā€˜experimentsā€™ push trigger in the app ended ages ago, and recently, the ā€˜feature flagsā€™ also seem to have been abandoned.

With such a structural change, it seems the :monzo: app has now matured beyond experimentation. And by default, exposure.
