It’s hardly unusable. It takes a bit of time but it isn’t the end of the world. How many times are you wanting to change a reference anyway?
Potentially quite a lot and often “on the go”.
I never use online banking if I can help it, I do almost all my banking on my phone.
Nationwide just isn’t set up for the modern world in my opinion, but everyone seems to give them a bit of a free pass and recommend them because they “are a mutual” and “have good ethics”.
They irritate me with their adverts and behave in many ways like any other bank, so I’m not convinced by that line of thinking.
Or maybe the card reader does doesn’t bother other people as much? Their app and online banking may not be the most modern, but it doesn’t need to be for most people.
People might not be giving them a free pass, they might simply not care about the same things that you do.
That’s certainly the case sometimes!
I should have been clearer: sometimes I actually see comments along the lines of “the card reader annoys me, but I like Nationwide because they’re a mutual so I can put up with it”.
Those are the kinds of comments that, specifically, make no sense to me.
