Last night’s Newsnight had a large segment covering FinTech & the government’s annual FinTech conference, where we saw one of the partners at Passion Capital (who are the main Monzo investors) Eileen Burbidge on stage, alongside Mark Carney & Philip Hammond yesterday.
As part of the show, Tom (Monzo’s CEO) is interviewed at Monzo’s new offices. He appears a few times (starting at 19:35), talking about the issues with the legacy banks, PSD2 & also acknowledges the threat from companies like Facebook, who launched their bill splitting functionality, in the US yesterday.
Jack Dorsey (Square recently launched in the UK) is also interviewed.
Edit - The BBC have now shared the segment on their YouTube channel -
