Barclays Chat

Doesn’t let me add my Revolut account details for direct debit in the app

Thanks for the insights on delivery times, for the record the PIN arrived 9 working days after making the application.
I do wish Barclaycard would stop sending me emails though, five emails, four of which are completely useless and one a complete waste of bandwidth asking me to activate my card - sorry guys I’m several steps ahead of you and have done so days before and spent on it!
They’re slowly heading for the blocked senders list.

I just got a repayment confirmation notification for my Barclaycard, don’t remember having one before.

Email?

App, said the payment amount and that it would be processed soon.

I think it was Barclays that used to have an overly matey email along the lines of ‘Nice one, cheers :+1:’ after making a payment. Almost as cringey as Lloyds’ old ‘woo-hoo payday :tada:’ notification (or whatever it was).

Don’t forget “Your phone, our app - have they met?”

Mate, you’re a bank, not my friend

Yet you start that response with “mate”!

I had a Barclaycard until six months ago when I closed it. Now I want to apply for a new one. I checked with customer service to find out the exact date it was closed as I know you can’t apply for a new card until six months have passed. Weirdly, a month or so ago I remember clicking on the credit cards icon on the products page in the app and it brought up the card comparison and application pages. Now when I tap on credit cards all I get is a screen headed “your Barclaycard” as though I still have one. Has anyone else recently applied for a card after the six month period and did you do it in app? Might try the website but I remember having to get profiles merged once before and that was a pain.

This is a bit bugged out. Two options, if you use Barclays online banking, log in to online banking and under borrow there should be an option for “Apply for a Barclaycard” (make sure to do this on a laptop/desktop as it does not work in mobile for some reason). Click the link on that page and you’ll be in a desktop version of what you used to see in the app so everything is pre-filled for you. Some of the cards may even show as pre-approved. You can then check your eligibility and apply. Otherwise just go to Barclaycard website and do a fresh eligibility check there, just be sure to use the same details to avoid it creating a new profile.
