it would great to have an app on my wrist that quickly allows me to check my balance and maybe recent spends too

Agreed. Watch apps would be neat. Apple Watch as well.
There are a lot of quick actions I want to do and Ive posted my thoughts on how notifications and notification actions need to be greatly enhanced to remove the need to be in the app all the time!
