Yes. If you pay some or all of the balance after the statement date, your DD is adjusted accordingly.

Some companies offset what you pay and others take the amount regardless.
Personally I think the companies that don’t adapt their amounts potentially could end up with a customer have a credit balance - something some companies say is against their T&Cs.
I prefer the companies that adapt the amount.

Anybody had problems with Amex payments online this evening?
Failing for me across multiple retailers - had to use other cards.
I made a purchase online about 5pm with no issues. Only used it on the tube since though.

Mine is never adjusted.
Makes sense to me though. The statement is for a fixed period. They don’t charge me more for the purchases I make after so not counting the credits seems fair (IMHO).
They say if you don’t send the documents they more than likely will close all your accounts. It’s basically a threat - horrible experience. Funnily enough I had no trouble paying it back literally paid in full on the spot but somehow that’s not enough to prove I can afford my spending

Was particularly annoying for me last week as I was in a rush trying to buy a train ticket. Not used it since.
Is anything being said on the screens when trying? Is it with the card or Apple/Google Pay? Having no issues my end but I almost always use Apple Pay
For me it was online. The transactions just kept failing. No specific error messages.
I just used Amex on eBay via Apple Pay and it worked fine, thankfully.
