Why has it taken so long? Genuine question. Has it involved architectural changes, or storage solutions? And privacy/policing of unsuitable images policy changes?
Excellent. With a suitable image they will be instantly recognisable. A welcome enhancement.

Yayyyyy - I like this, I’m not a fan of the pre chosen options at all. They rarely match the goal so gives little inspiration or motivation
