I keep having to switch my phone on and off when the display shows these options. 
Tap the back arrow next to search

The touch point is there, top left, but not the button.

Thank you for your replies in response. However my phone must be the odd one
out then as there is no back button or x… typical!
Depending on phone model, if you swipe from the left edge of the screen to the right, it’ll work as a back function.

My back button has also vanished from some screens now! It is there on some screens but not others (well it is there but I cannot see it - if I tap that area if closes). Seems to only be an issue for dark mode from what I can see.
