Oh boy I’m gonna guess neither.
I’m coming up for renewals on renting and then it’s a year before we buy so anything that helps is good on my side!

I’m on base plus 0.49.
It was all gravy for the best part of a decade but my repayments basically doubled over the last few years.
Always felt like I missed the boat on fixing on the way up (obviously wrong in hindsight) but happy to take the savings now.
This reminds me of autumn 2008. I’d just renewed my mortgage and chose a tracker when the base rate was around 5.00%. By the next spring it had gone down to 0.50%
I did 5 year fix when really I should have done 10.
Hindsight is 20/20.
Same, still two years left at 2.03%
At least our second mortgage (nursery fees) would have ended by then.
We’ve been fixing for 2 years the last few times. We’re up for renewal this March, so good news for us as it should mean we’re paying even less again.
Just got our water bill for the next year, £69 a month up from £54.
It’s an absolute joke.
£360 a year for single me.
My water is included in my council tax. I pay £200pm
Certainly is a joke, it was £48 the year before so gone up £20 since 2023.
How else are they going to pay the dividends?
On the plus side we don’t get water bills in NI. On the minus side, they don’t have enough money to upgrade the water supply and sewage system which has put a halt to building houses in more and more areas.
Being publicly owned doesn’t sort out the problems of under investment.
Approximately a quarter so you’re talking 50 quid a month.
Wow. I thought Thanes Water was bad at £24pm (metered)
We aren’t on a meter, I don’t particularly want one fitting either.
Fair. I didn’t want one either, but had no choice in the end. It’s saved us a lot of money, and I should have had one earlier.
For water? Mine is £28 a month!
Thames Water, no meter.
Yep for water with no meter, United Utilities.
I’m surprised by how little some of you are paying for water.
We are paying £77.50 per month just for the two of us (metered) with South West Water.
If there’s one think I like more about the way things are done living in Scotland, it’s that I no longer have a water bill, because it’s paid via council tax.
I think that’s how it should be for water.
If there’s one aspect of British society where privatisation makes zero sense and should end, it’s water. Not rail. Not healthcare. Not energy. But water. That’s not to discount the arguments for those other things, but that it just makes even less sense than those when it comes to water.
