Split the bill _to_ a joint account

Am I dumb or is this not possible? When a bill split comes through it seems to target the personal account; can you make your joint account visible to the person doing the split? Or am I supposed to click some element in the UI to change the source of funds? Or indeed does the source always have to be the personal account?
