From a legal point of view it still applies in the background, but you are covering it off implicitly each time (I think it probably resets the 90 days to zero, but less sure of those exact details)
If you were to not log in for 90 days for whatever reason, with this new approach your normal fingerprint login will be covering the SCA requirement instead, not that you would be able to tell the difference
